SARS Masks, Chemical Weapons detectors & Decontamination Powder RespAir "SARS" mask. Although commonly described as a "SARS" mask, our lightweight folding facemask is not simply intended for this use, and should not be confused with the inferior masks being offered elsewhere. The RespAir 3v half-mask is intended to be small and discrete enough that the user can carry it folded in an inside pocket, or slipped into a briefcase or handbag. It provides the answer to the problem of needing respiratory protection in the event of an emergency situation, where a full facemask may not be immediately available, and could be donned in seconds to provide a degree of protection to the user until they were able to escape the danger or reach their protective full face mask. Stored in sealed bag for long shelf life. The low cost of the unit means that you can afford to buy a number to be placed in key places (glove box, desk drawer, child's lunch box, etc.) so that immediate respiratory protection is available to those people who need it, when they need it. The quality of this British built mask is excellent. Not only is it ergonomically designed and adjustable for fit and comfort, it also incorporates an exhalation valve which makes the unit more comfortable to use and is a feature only found on more expensive models. The level of protection offered is higher than those offered elsewhere. Most masks intended for this use offer up to "95" (P2) filtration, which means that it can filter out airborne water droplets which may contain bacteria. The RespAir 3v is rated at P3 (the highest level), which not only removes the water droplets, but the bacteria themselves (99.97% of all particulates). The difference in protection between P2 and P3 means that the RespAir 3v provides 3 TIMES the level of respiratory protection offered by inferior "95" (P2) masks. Like all masks of this type, no protection is offered to the eyes, but respiratory protection is offered against airborne BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS & DISEASES (see weapons reference, left hand column). The masks are very affordable at only £ 9.99 + v.a.t. (£11.74) each, or discounted to £ 75.00 + v.a.t. (£88.13) for a box of ten. With many chemical weapons being virtually colourless and odourless, how can you tell if one is present in the air and that you need to don your mask ?. Detection systems exist that can sample the air and check for the presence of chemical weapons, but these mechanisms are very expensive (in the thousands), and too large to carry around with you all the time. This is where the CODRUS reactive badge comes in. The badge contains reactive areas, each sensitive to a different airborne chemical risk. In the presence of a chemical agent, the appropriate section changes colour to indicate a warning. It's the modern version of the miner's canary. The badges are sealed in airtight bags and have a two year shelf life. These are brand new units only recently invented and are not to be confused with the old British Army reactive paper, which was sensitive only to one type of liquid agent at a time (and now only available army surplus & out of date). The badge can detect Cyanide, Arsenic, Fluoride, Sulphide, Chlorine, Oxidisers, ph and NERVE Gas, thereby giving a wide range of detection and covering most chemical weapon families.
Click here to add a Chemical Weapons Detector badge to your basket at only £29.79 + v.a.t. (£35.00). Used for many years for decontaminating soldiers and equipment from contamination by chemical weapons, the CODRUS Powder is highly effective. Simply sprinkle powder onto the contaminated surface, allow to absorb the agent, then clean off. Full instructions on the side of the container for use. Available as part of the CODRUS Respirator set (see ordering page) or individually in 100 gm containers.
A vital part of any protective kit, decontamination powder allows you to correctly make safe your protective gear, so that it can be used again and doesn't become a health risk to the user from secondary contamination. |
