Welcome To Golden Cross Cheese Company

Golden Cross Cheese Company is a family owned business that has been producing speciality award winning goat's and sheep's cheeses on the farm since 1989.

All the cheeses are soft, mould ripened and made with unpasteurised milk. They contain vegetarian rennet and are hand made, from ladling the curd to final wrapping.

The herd of 300 goats graze outside during the summer and are fed hay all year round. They are split into 3 kidding groups to try to provide year round cheese but some seasonality is inevitable when only using milk from one source.

GOLDEN CROSS is a St Maure style cheese made daily on the farm from the milk of our own herd of goats. Each log is lightly charcoaled and becomes denser, creamier and fuller flavoured as it matures. LAUGHTON LOG is a larger cutting version and CHABIS is a small fresh goat's cheese.

FLOWER MARIE is our square shaped sheep's milk cheese made in individual and cutting sizes. It is firm and fresh tasting when young developing more intense flavours as it softens with maturity.
