Update regards Bipolar fly leads and requirement for block fittings Stop save money: BS EN 60601-2-2:2009 standard was updated in August 2009. There is a NEW specific sub clause relating to the use of HF cords and exempting them from the requirement to use a fixed width fitting. Bipolar "Fly leads" are still acceptable to purchase and use. Sub clause 201.8.5.2.3 goes into the details, but basically the HF equipment that the HF leads are plugged into is only accessible and under the supervision of highly trained proffesionals, and hence has been exempted.
