Halton Memorials & Co.
Ltd.
Q My memorial stone has been marked as unsafe by the
cemetery/churchyard
A Almost all councils and churchyards are operating a memorial safety
scheme to comply with Health and Safety Guidelines.
We will usually inspect the memorial before giving
you a definitive quote but in most cases your memorial stone can be brought up
to the latest specifications for around £230.
If however your memorial stone has kerb surrounds
this cost is usually considerably more.
Q I would like to order a memorial stone but I don’t know what wording
is appropriate, can you help me with this?
A Yes, you can order a memorial stone without the wording being
finalized, the only things we need in to place an order is simply the memorial
code (next to stone in brochure) and the colour i.e. “All polished black
granite”
When you place an order with us we will help you
with the layout of any wording you may already have, don’t worry if you don’t
know where to start as we will be only to happy to help you with the
inscription layout.
Q We are unable to come to visit the showroom; can we order our
memorial stone through the post or perhaps on the phone?
A Yes, if you are unable to visit our showroom, we are able to take
down the details from you over the phone, as everything will be confirmed in
the post.
Also you will be sent a paper printout of what the
memorial stone will look like with your choice of wording and your chosen
design. Click here for an example
Q Can I pay over the phone by credit card?
A Unfortunately we are unable to offer this service at the moment but
we do however accept cheques and cash
Q Can we have a portrait of the deceased on the memorial stone?
A In most cemeteries they are allowed or an etching cut into the
memorial face but most Church of England churchyards do not allow human
representation
Q I would like to design my own memorial stone, as I can’t see what
would like in any brochure, is this possible?
A In most cases we can arrange a totally bespoke memorial service
assuming the local authority is happy with the drawings of it.
We occasionally may need to advise against certain
materials and colours.
Q Do I need to pay fees to the council/church for the introduction of
the memorial?
A Yes, most councils and churchyards charge fees to permit any
memorials to be installed in their burial grounds, we will always advise you of
these fees when quoting you
