PEST REMOVAL AND CONTROL - ALL TYPES |
Hawkshead Falconry is one of the UK leading Falconry companies and as such we are involved in many different types of avian pest control.
The vast majority of our work involves the removal of feral pigeons from many different locations i.e., shopping centres, office blocks, bridges, derelict buildings and landfill sites. Over the years we have refined our methods and can boast a success rate of 95%. In many cases a 100% is achieved in the removal of problem birds. Pigeons as a species present more of a health hazard to the general public, more so than other types of birds because of their close proximity to humans. Overwhelming scientific evidence from scientist µbiologists suggest that feral pigeons harbour many forms of fungal / bacterial strains of diseases i.e. Chlamidias, Mycoplasmosis, E.Coli Pneumonococcus, round worm, tape worm etc. Even a dead pigeon lying on the ground is a health risk. As decomposition take place you have maggots. Flies that leave the body can carry micro bacteria, even the birds feathers carry fungus (feathers boring mite). In the past netting and anti pigeon spiking were used to deter birds from taking up roosting on a building although this does work in many cases it still does not solve the problem as the pigeons just move further along to a different building. So unless you can net and anti pigeon spike all the properties in the area it would not be viable and from a financial point of view could be very costly and impractical and you still have the problem of pigeon droppings etc. The solution is to remove the offending birds - once this has been achieved a follow-up program would be put into place so as to stop any recurrence of the problem. Netting and spiking properties would be very expensive - unsightly and not practical. |

Conclusion |
Removal of the offending birds is by far the best option also from a health hazed point of view - no bird droppings on pavements or buildings and no dead or decomposing bodies lying about. There would be no need for Council cleaning operatives time after time to clean the mess left from feral pigeons in shopping centres etc. It is far more cost affective to put in place a removal program. Experienced staff carry out all work professionally and discretely. We can offer to the client a complete removal program with full back-up facility so as to stop any recurrence of the problem. All our work carries a full guarantee. So whether its Rabbits on vegetable farm, cereal crop protection from Wood pigeons or Crows etc. Fruit farms have benefited from the service we provided. So for a consolation or free advice please phone on 01582 861564 and get the problem solved. |
