ATEX Directive - how does it affect you? With effect from July 2003, the European ATEX Directive 94/9/EC became mandatory. This means that any equipment designed for use in potentially explosive environments (dust, vapour, gas) must be CE Ex certified to the correct standard, depending upon the nature of the environment. We have been advising manufacturers and helping in the re-design of equipment to ensure that the requirements of the Directive are being met. The Directive has significant implications for all equipment being used in grain stores, silos, mills, material handling, port facilities, drying systems etc. Contact us for more information and assistance in assessing the implications of this Directive to your manufacturing and product development.
