Abbey Mortgage Review

I had a mortgage with Abbey for more than 25 years (2 houses). When I tried to pay off my mortgage early, they made it extremely difficult. They would not accept payments from my Abbey internet current account. They said they would only accept cheques by post with a covering letter, or personal payment at a branch. Even after I had paid off the full amount, it took 3 letters, 6 phone calls, 8 months and another £200 before I got my deeds.
