• Datel Drops XSATA 360
Datel announced today the release of a new product for the Xbox 360, dubbed the XSATA. The device allows users to access their 360's HD from their PCs via a USB 2.0 cable. The XSATA sits between the HD unit and the 360 itself, and allows for access by both the 360 and PC while installed.
Moving demos, saves, and other media to and from the 360 is a cool idea, though as many have discovered, many files and the 360 are locked to the console or Xbox Live account, meaning sharing the data you pull from the 360's HD may be a bit tricky.

FAQ:
The next video game consoles?
Microsoft--The next
Xbox is code-named "Xenon." What it will be
called when it hits stores is the subject of rampant
speculation, with Microsoft reportedly wanting to avoid
the obvious xbox 360 because that would be one less than
PlayStation 3. Favorite names in the rumor mill include
Xbox Next, Xbox 360 and Xbox HD. Microsoft has registered
domains for xboxnext.com and xbox2.com; xbox360.com belongs
to British squatters. For simplicity's sake, we'll stick
with xbox 360 until Microsoft offers something more definitive.

Final
xbox 360 Dev Kits with ATI R500 Hardware
The Inquirer is reporting
that official, final xbox 360 development kits are set
to ship early next year, upgrading the current PowerMac
G5 + Radeon 9800 kits to something using ATI’s
R500 graphic chipset. That means two things: the xbox 360 hardware should use R500-class hardware (duh) and the
R500 is pretty close to being locked and loaded, meaning
we could reasonable expect a new Radeon video card using
the chipset around the same time next year.

will include software and hardware being displayed to
the public for the first time.

Microsoft
considering a WLAN xbox 360/360, AND wireless TV
connection?
Okay , you can take
this a number of ways. First, what the hell do they mean
by “connects to my TV wirelessly”? Do they
mean connects to the Internet wirelessly? Or a media
hub wirelessly? Maybe they just want to see if you would
buy a wireless access point to play your Xbox Live! games.
OR (the option we’re hoping for), Microsoft is
looking into making the next Xbox wireless out of the
box, as a media hub.

xbox 360 'amazing'

it's un -- well, let me say it politely -- unbelievable.
Just unbelievable. The graphics, what it can do, the

see that product sometime soon. I couldn't comment, of
course, on those rumors. But it's an amazing, amazing
innovation." [excerpt]
