How to look after your crystals….

Cleansing your Crystals..

When you first buy a crystal it is advisable to cleanse it before you start to work with it to remove any energies it has picked up on it's journey to you.
How do I cleanse a crystal?
The easiest method is to run it under the tap, then place it in the window sill for a few hours to get some light.
However, not all crystals like to be put in water* as they can be damaged. For these, you can place them on a bed of sea, or rock salt for a few hours and the salt will absorb the energies.
*For example, selenite, calcite, lepidolite, and kyanite.
The salt will need to be discarded after use.
Next it is best to charge your crystal, this can be done by exposing it to sunlight, or moon light, whichever you prefer. This will boost the energy after the cleansing process.

Programming Crystals
This is simply a case of asking the crystal to work with you for your chosen purpose (for the highest and greatest good of the universe).
Simply hold the crystal next to your heart, or your third eye chakra (located in the centre of the forehead) and ask for it to work with you, and visualise your desired outcome at the same time. This puts a more powerful message in to the crystal, so that it can help you to reach your goals.
Crystals magnify thoughts and will strengthen any desire you have or affirmation you make, so it is wise to make sure that you really want what you are asking for!

Day-to-Day Care
If you are using your crystals a lot they will need regular cleansing, once again they will need to be held under running water or placed on a saucer of salt.
They can then be charged up again.

Above is a basic guide of how to begin working with your crystals, there are many ways to cleanse, charge and programme stones, use your intuition to find what feels right for you.
