The South West Coast, or the 'Back of the Wight'
As the chalk spine runs almost due east, the coastline sweeps round Compton Bay, with its slumping orange cliffs, and on in a still grander arc to the barren boulders at Rocken End, terminating the tanned sands. On the down high above, the old lighthouse looks far to the Needles, whilst its more modern replacement sits bleached white in the sun far below.
