The
cover of the Dad's Army song book is based on the design
and look of a World War 2 Ration Book.
|
The
reverse of the Dad's Army Song Book shows a photograph of
Arthur Lowe as Captain Mainwaring, this appears to be from
The Stage Show production.

The
Dad's Army song book is a welcome acquisition to
the Dad's Army book collection, especially if you
are a musician and a fan of the music featured in the series.
Although
I'm not certain all the Wartime songs actually featured
in the series, the book sets a tone for the era it is meant
to represent, there is also a nice rare photograph of Arthur
Lowe on the reverse of the book cover as well.
Songs
include:
The
Lambeth Walk, Who do you think you're kidding Mr. Hitler?,
Run, Rabbit, Run, Three little sisters, The Fleet's in port
again, Leaning on a lamp post, We mustn't miss the last
bus home, Hey! Little Hen, Who is this man?, Lilli Marlene,
Berlin or Bust and There's something about a soldier
