Cartoonist
Denis Gifford compiled this brilliant Scrapbook of illustrations
from World War Two for Corgi Books in 1975. Giving the reader
a hindsight as to how humour was an important factor to
people living through Wartime.
Providing
a foreword is Arthur Lowe (who also features on the book
cover in Captain Mainwaring costume no less). Arthur recalls
the days of the second World War and also mentions the popularity
of Radio Broadcaster, John Snagge, who receives standing
ovations at the Dad's Army radio broadcasts of 1975!
