In
2001, two episodes featured in this book were recovered,
as a way in marking this, I was fortunate enough to get
the authors to sign my copy at the NFT in October that year
at the special pre-tv showing of "The Battle of Godfrey's
Cottage". |
Released
in 1998, this book was a welcome acquisition to the Dad's
Army library as at the time this was the only available
reference to the complete scripts to the second series of
Dad's Army which was broadcast by the BBC in 1969.
A few
years after broadcast five of the six episodes of this series
were 'lost' from the BBC archives.
The scripts featured are "Operation Kilt",
"The Battle of Godfrey's Cottage", "The
Loneliness of The Long Distance Walker", "Sgt.
Wilson's Little Secret", "A Stripe for Frazer"
and "Under Fire".
The book also features comments from Jimmy Perry & David
Croft as well as rare photographs from the series.
