in 1982, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of BBC
broadcasting, this double album features an Aladdin's
Cave of original radio and television themes from
the first 60 years of the BBC.
As
well as Bud Flanagan's theme from Dad's Army,
other tunes featured are I.T.M.A., In The Mood,
Dick Barton, Dixon of Dock Green, Desert Island Discs,
Steptoe & Son, Monty Python, Blue Peter, The Onedin
Line & All Creatures Great And Small.
The
inside cover of the gatefold sleeve features a collage
of BBC stars from the first 60 years, amongst these
is a photograph of Arthur Lowe as Captain Mainwaring.
