A rare Post-Dad's Army record project from John Le Mesurier and his son Robin.

John beautifully narrates the classic story of "The Velveteen Rabbit" by Margery Williams. The story is told with great sensitivity and the accompanying music is also wonderful, stirring images of toys coming to life and the toy rabbit that dearly wants to be real...

There was once a Velveteen Rabbit who was given to a boy. For a long time he lived in the toy cupboard or on the nursery floor, and no one thought very much about him - not even the boy, who had lots of other toys to play with. The rabbit felt very small and unimportant. The only person who was ever kind to him was the skin horse, who was old and wise and knew all about nursery magic...

This is a great production with music accompaniment provided by Ed Welch and John's son, Robin.
