Corgi Capture Dad's Army!

Source: Model Collector published by IPC, February 2001

As a tribute to the hilarious Home Guard's of Walmington-on-Sea. Corgi have released two die-cast 1930's vans with figures of their owners from the 1960's comedy series Dad's Army.

Fans will fondly remember Mr Jones, local butcher, aka Lance Corporal Jones and his trusty van, used to ferry the rest of the platoon around. True to form he is modelled clutching a bayonet, prepared to defend his country.

Joining Jones in the range is Mr Hodges, local greengrocer by day and chief ARP Warden by night. His character, a stickler for the rules, was responsible for enforcing the blackout. He is captured in white helmet and uniform pointing orders, no doubt shouting 'Put that light out!'

Both come in window presentation packs and are priced at £14.99 from Corgi stockists.
