Desert
Island Discs is one of Radio 4's most popular and enduring programmes.
Created by Roy Plomley in 1942, the format is simple: each week
a guest is invited to choose the eight records they would take
with them to a desert island.
Between 1970
and 1976, Desert Island Discs featured no less than 5 of
the main stars of Dad's Army on its programme.
Roy Plomley
interviewed Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier, Clive Dunn, John Laurie
and Arnold Ridley.
Now, travel
to those Desert Island's and discover the choices made by them!
Thanks
to Dave Homewood and Carl Gresham who have provided me with details
for this section.
