Dad's
Army - The Missing Episodes
In
the early years of television, especially before the video age,
it was common policy for the BBC to dispose of television programme's
which were felt to be of no further interest to the watching public.
Dad's
Army began a year before Colour Television started in 1969,
and up until June 2001, 5 Black & White
episodes of Season 2 were believed missing forever. The recovery
of "Operation Kilt" and "The Battle of
Godfrey's Cottage" only weeks after the BBC launched
its "Treasure Hunt" appeal has given hope that
the remaining episodes will once again resurface.
There
follows a list of the episodes missing from the BBC Archive, if
you can provide any information with regards to the recovery of
these episodes, please
e-mail me.
