This manor house, located off the beaten track in the Cotswolds has a long and interesting history. However the layout of the house lacked connectivity with the garden so part of the client's brief was to make the garden, with its long reaching views readily accessible from the dwelling. The solution was to alter and extend the West Wing and provide it with a fully glazed gable, which overlooks the grounds and the views beyond.
The extension is separated from the original building with a glass link while a new glass door provides access from the kitchen to the newly landscaped grounds.
These, coupled with internal alterations, successfully brought crisp and clean contemporary living spaces within the fabric of an historic building.
