An association of some 350 societies throughout the country (and many abroad) dedicated to the promotion of the arts in all its guises. This is done by maintaining a directory of top class lecturers for the use of member societies and by encouraging the disemination of artistic ideals and the conservation of important artefacts.

NADFAS SW Area

This regional tier of organisation exists to provide a forum for its 21 member societies, to help to co-ordinate their activities and to promote activities to complement the activities of the societies on one hand and of NADFAS house on the other. Michael is currently Area Chairman.

This is our own local society. It has ten lectures per year on the second Wednesday of each month except July and August. It has a Heritage Volunteer section who do conservation work in the Royal Cornwall Museum and a Young Arts section that promotes and sponsors artistic education in the community. It also organises a number of study days and visits each year as well as an annual tour alternating between UK and abroad.

Val served on the committee as Young Arts representative for three years and Michael served three years as Treasurer and three years as Chairman.
