ON THE FARM

Baxter, our West Highland White Terrier, joined us as a pup in October 2005.

He loves everything around the farm.  At times, we joke that Baxter is really a new breed of dog, The West Highland Grey !
Here he is with  "Tom Kitten" the cat, helping "Buffy" Our Buff Orpington cockerel, to eat his kitchen scraps.

Enjoy the pleasures of a log fire in Sunset, Meadow, or Rose cottages

For those who like to relax in front of a nice log fire, logs are free from the yard.

Here are our highland cattle.  They just love having their photographs taken.

Feeding times for the cows and sheep are approximately 8-30am and 4-30 pm.  Of course, guests and visitors can eat at any time of their own choice!

Blizzard, our resident Brahms cockerel .
Blizzard's assistant overseeing lambing time.

This is Charlie our pony.

<<< Charlie is very full of himself, and tries to encourage the highland cattle calves to race him round the paddock.
No contest of course.
Call him over and he'll come to see you.

Great Edstone village is in the background.

Please do not bring your pets, as this is a working farm.

As well as the interest of the working farm with sheep and cattle to be enjoyed, there is private fly fishing on the property on the River Dove, a wildlife pond and a riverside walk.
Some of our visitors have reported seeing Otters on our part of the river.
They are known to be breeding very close by, and are being monitored by The Otter Trust.

Badgers are using the wildlife area and deer have been seen regularly on our farmland.
Many forms of other wildlife can be seen such as hares, and birds such as owls, curlews, oyster catchers, pheasants, etc are regular visitors here.

Maverick the Alsatian is always ready for a game with our visitors.

If you are lucky, you might spot Tony, our resident Tawny Owl.  You'll certainly hear him calling to his girlfriend (his "bird").
If it's raining he calls "Too wet to wooo !"
They raised a family of 2 chicks on our farm in 2006.

Come and visit us.  We all look forward to meeting (and entertaining) you!
