How to get to Jura

Jura can be approached by air or car/passenger ferry through Islay.

By air

There are flights from Glasgow Airport to Islay Airport (external link to British Airways timetable & booking information). (British Airways Main Office Tel. +44(0)345 222111, Islay Office: +44(0)1496 302022). The flight takes about thirty minutes and the journey then continues by taxi and ferry (see below) to Jura (arranged by Jura Hotel for its guests (if requested).

By ferry

There is a ferry from Kennacraig (West Loch Tarbert) to Port Askaig or Port Ellen on Islay, (external link to current timetable). The journey takes just over two hours. Car space on this ferry must be booked in advance; alternatively cars may be left at Kennacraig.
There is a second ferry for the five minute crossing from Port Askaig to Feolin on Jura (timetable). The Hotel will forward details of ferries if requested.

Yachts

Craighouse Bay offers good, safe anchorage with 8 moorings for visitors. Shower and laundry facilities are available at the Hotel.
