Report on Week Five by Sean Lucas In Division One, champions Amlwch A continue their domination of Llandudno & District Table Tennis League. They beat Y Morfa B 9-1, conceding their first point of the season when Anthony Johnson overcame Ian Ault. Anthony is finding some form, and took a game from Paul Collins. The title race in the second division is beginning to take shape. Craig-y-don B is still top after a 7-3 victory over Denbigh C, and Ady Waugh remains unbeaten for Craig-y-don. Lurking in fourth spot are North Wales Police B who remain unbeaten and had little difficulty in seeing off Denbigh D 10-0. In the handicap cup North Wales Police A saw off Y Morfa A. The strength of Mark Pugh was clearly shown by his dropping only 84 points (an average of 28 points per game) in three games against Norman Stagg, Peter Beatham and Harold Furber. The league clashes between the top three teams; Police A, Y Morfa A and Amlwch A are eagerly awaited. Results for league tables, click HERE

Veteran Team Championship of Wales by Sean Lucas The 2009/10 competitions involve playing seven teams once and then a play off to decide the overall finishing positions. This will provide lots of new opponents plus a couple of familiar faces.
Denbigh’s star man of the first fixture was Reg John. He was compelled to play number three due to his Wales ranking and had little difficulty in winning all four of his singles matches and both of his doubles matches in partnership with Peter Beatham. However an unwell Peter and a rusty Sean Lucas were only able to win one singles match each from their four.
