Pre-Season 2003
Well, here we are again! A new season, new colours (well for the time being) and hopes for a longer season than 2002. Once again it's MRO National 250 GP racing for racetowin, once again on the AVS/Bridgestone backed Yamaha TZ. With the broken wrist of 2002 screwed, fixed, tried and tested, everything was pretty much in place for Rd1 at Snetterton on 22-23/3/3. Work commitments left me driving home from Belgium on Friday the 21st, before loading up and making the 2-hour trip to what would be a sunny Snetterton. Yep, you read that right, a SUNNY Snetterton.
Over the winter, my dad and I have been working flat out, to make good of what was my van-motorhome. This has been one massive headache, in fact we have pretty much re-built it, and although not completely finished, it does no longer become a rain water catch tank, and it even starts when the key is turned, Amazing. So with the van in tiptop condition, the bike checked over and re-built I hoped for a trouble free season. (No Chance)
Pre-season plans for testing and practice hadn't gone at all to plan. Despite the fact that the bike was up and running well before the start of the season, the bank manager had other ideas about going testing. My plans for this year are to try and compete in as many meetings as possible, to enable me to get on top of running this bike as early as possible. To enable me to do this I'm relying on the help of family and friends to achieve the logistics alone, as well as many people's help throughout the year to get on the pace at each and every round. So, it's looking like a very difficult task, of that there is no doubt, but one thing is for sure, I will once again be giving 100% to the cause!!!!
