Semington - Bridge 163 Waddon lane Bridge
Friday 6 January 2012 - Wednesday 4 April 2012
Due to essential maintenance works planned on Whaddon Lane Bridge, a stoppage of the canal will be required to enable the works to be completed with the minimum impact to our users. The duration of the stoppage will be three weeks commencing from Monday 13th February with completion anticipated by 4th March 2012. During this time a towpath closure will be in place, users are advised to follow the diversion route published. Semington Dry Docks
Monday 23 January 2012 - Friday 9 March 2012
Due to essential works planned at Semington Dry Dock, a stoppage and dewatering of the canal will be required to enable the works to be completed with the minimum impact to our users, the canal will be dewatered between Lock 15 Semington and Lock 16 Harris Lock. The duration of the stoppage will be seven weeks commencing as from Monday 23rd January 2012 with completion anticipated by Friday 9th March 2012, during this time the towpath will remain open to users. Navigation Open - Bridge 201, Victoria Suspension Bridge
Thursday 5 January 2012 - Tuesday 31 January 2012
Bath & NE Somerset Council have now completed their emergency works to support Victoria Suspension Bridge No: 201.
The navigation will be re-opened by 08:00am on Friday 6th January 2012.
Please note that the temporary works to support the bridge have reduced the headroom by 0.5m.
The towpath is also closed

Dundas Sanitary Facilities
Friday 4 November 2011 until further notice
The Dundas Sanitary Facilities is out of order due to the dangerous state of the structure.  We do advise boaters not use the mooring in front of this facility until further notice.The nearest Pump Out and Elsan facilities are at Bradford on Avon. BW apologies for any inconvenience caused. Waterscape will be updated once further information is available

River Avon between Bridge 208 & Lock 4 Saltford
Wednesday 1 February 2012 - Sunday 26 February 2012
The 44th annual Avon County Rowing Club Head of the River Race will be held on Saturday 25 February 2012. This is a timed rowing race for up to 300 boats taking place on the River Avon between Newbridge in Bath and Saltford. Some 500-600 competitors are expected to take part with racing commencing at 10:00 and the last division starting at 15:15.
We would ask that you please navigate with great care during this time and in the interest of safety, while the racing is in progress, Race Marshalls will ask you to pull in to the bank and wait until the racing has passed. This may involve a wait of around 20-30 minutes but we would be most grateful if you could please fully cooperate with these requests.

Seend Lock 17 to 21

Monday 16 January 2012 - Friday 9 March 2012
UPDATE (06 January 2012): The start of the stoppage has been delayed by one week. It will now commence on Monday 16th January.
There will be a window for craft to navigate the Seend flight on the 11th & 12th of February. Please advise Devizes office on 01380 722859 if you wish to use the locks on either of these dates.
