The sole activity of the Hungerford Branch is the operation of
the passenger boat
'Rose of Hungerford' which runs public and
charter trips from the Wharf, off the High Street at Hungerford.
Each trip requires a crew of at least 4 people, one of whom is
the 'Skipper' who is examined and licensed by the Maritime and Coastguard
Agency after a period of training. The rest of the crew is made
up by helmsmen or helmswomen, crew-men(or crew-women) and bar staff.
Training is given by the Branch Training Manager before a volunteer
takes the helm for public or charter trips. The Branch will always
welcome new faces in the team.
Details of the public and charter trips undertaken by 'Rose of
Hungerford' can best be found by clicking on 'HUNGERFORD' in the
right-hand column of the Home Page under the heading of Boat Trips.
Apart from the usual public and charter trips, the Hungerford
Branch operates special Santa Cruises in the weeks before Christmas.
