Author Talk with Warren Berry at Borders Bookshop, Wednesday 22nd July, 8.30pm

As part of the build-up to this year's Newbury Waterways Festival, Borders will be hosting a talk with Warren Berry - author of 'The Kennet & Avon Navigation: A History'. Warren is a long time advocate of canal conservation and historical awareness, and his association with the Kennet & Avon Trust stretches back over 20 years. This is a unique opportunity to meet Warren, ask him some questions and gain some insight into the history of one of Britain's most famous canals. The event is free, but space is limited, so please contact John O'Connor on 01635 380 34 or to reserve a seat as soon as possible.

The Shop at The Stone Building, Newbury Wharf

Due to reorganisation, the shop is currently closed

The Stone Building NewburyThe Trust's shop and café are within the Stone Building on Newbury Wharf, which lies on the south side of the river between Victoria Park Bridge and the bridge that carries the A339/Inner Ring Road over the river.

A large pay-and-display car park and public toilets are adjacent to the Stone Building.

On sale: good selection of Canal-related books, maps, souvenirs and gifts. Hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and cakes, ice creams and sweets. Refreshments can be eaten inside the building or, weather permitting, outside on the quay-side.

The upstairs Meeting Room in the Stone Building is available for hire.

Volunteers - We are always looking for volunteers to help in the shop.  It's rewarding, worthwhile and good fun!  If you could offer as little as 3 hours a month - or if you know someone who could - please give Tracy a call on the number below.  She will be very pleased to hear from you!
