Cell groups
What are cell groups?
Cell groups are small groups of around 8-15 people who meet in homes across Loughborough during the week for friendship, support and community outreach. If you are not already part of a congregation, we'd love you to join us in cell groups.
Why have cell groups?
Many thousands of congregations around the world meet in groups similar to cells. Like them, we recognise that a Sunday meeting is not the only way to help everyone get to know each other and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
What happens at cell group meetings?
Cell meetings tend to be held in someone's home (though parks, pubs and other places can also be good!). Not all cell meetings are the same. But we aim to focus on four things:
Welcome
A chance to get to know each other better through interactive questions and games. After a long day, this can help break the ice and get everyone talking!
Worship/p>
We spend time singing, praying and reflecting on who Jesus is and what he has done for us. The experience is sometimes joyful, sometimes intimate, and everyone can join in.
Word
It's also important to grow in what we know about Jesus. We look together at the Bible, which is a key way God speaks to us. Sometimes we think more deeply about a topic covered on the previous Sunday, to help us apply what we learn.
Witness
As followers of Jesus, we want others to find out how good he is, too. So together we plan ways to meet new friends and to help out in our community.
