Barbados for us doesn't hold many good memories. Having been to the Maldives in 1999, the Caribbean had lost something for us and it wasn't helped that Chris spent most of the first week on her own as I managed to take sick and was confined to the bathroom.

We were also disappointed in our choice of hotel, which was called Escape, Prospect Bay in particular the beach and the restaurant.

The highlight of the holiday was undoubtedly "Ted's Tour". Ted, a white Barbadian conducts the "alternative" tour of the island, taking a full day to take you to places the other tour operators don't go. As well as seeing the typical "tourist" sights, we saw the local fish market and even went to a funeral (and we have the pictures to prove it!)
