St Kitts, or St Christopher to give its correct name, along with its sister island Nevis, was the venue for our second trip to the Caribbean.
We stayed at the Jack Tar Village about 20 minutes drive from the capital Basseterre and right next to the Royal St Kitts Golf Club. The Atlantic coast was about ten minutes walk from the hotel with the calmer Caribbean coast about 20 minutes away.

Places to visit include Basseterre where some great reggae music shops can be found and the obligatory Island Tour to see the sights.
We managed to catch the daily ferry to Nevis, an island much loved as a hideaway by Princess Diana, where we visited many of the old colonial plantations, several of which are now exclusive hotels. Our day on Nevis coincided with Montserrat giving another of her seismic belches and all day we were showered with volcanic ash and the oh-so-sweet smell of sulphur.

The hotel was great, food okay and weather okay too except for a couple of monsoon type downpours, all too familiar in the Caribbean where two inches of water can fall in an hour, to be followed by bright sunshine and clear skies for the rest of the day.
Pelican Beach, about 20 minutes drive away offered some great snorkelling or else you could just sit on the beach, with the monkeys and watch the pelicans go fishing.
