Alan

Alan "Kit-Bag" (that's me by the way), was born in Withington, Manchester in September 1968, and as you will see from the photographs, I haven't changed much although I eventually grew into my ears (or so I like to think!)

The "Elder Kit-Bags" and I moved from Bristol to the Forest of Dean in August 1976 and apart from moving to Llantwit Fardre (Nr. Pontypridd) for two years after marrying Chris, I have lived there ever since.

I left school in 1986 and joined Barclays Bank (well it seemed like a good idea at the time). Having realised the error of my ways I eventually decided on a career in Human Resources (the Anti-Personnel Department) and left Barclays to become the Head of Human Resources (and one of the five owners) of Inframan Ltd, a Facilities Services company employing over 1,000 people throughout the UK and in Gibraltar and Cyprus with a combined turnover of £65million.  Inframan was sold in December 2002 and I finally left in March 2003 having stayed around to oversee its integration.

After relaxing in the sun for most of the rest of 2003 I eventually started my own Human Resources consultancy (Pulse HR Consulting  Ltd) in November of that year and having supported a number of diverse companies I was finally persuaded by one of my clients to join them on a permanent basis as their Head of Human Resources, leaving in December 2006 to become the Human Resources Director for chartered building company with an annual turnover of £80million

Chris and I were engaged in June 1991 and married in May 1992. Initially we lived in Chris's house in Llantwit Fardre, near Pontypridd until we moved back to the village I grew up in in 1994, where we have lived ever since, just around the corner from the Elder "Kit-Bags" ... it's hard to believe that we have been together for 16 years.

I was very proud to be asked to be the God-Father to Olivia Grace (and Uncle Alan to her elder brother Jacob and younger sister Emily), the eldest daughter of our friends Martin and Juliet and I take the role and the responsibility it brings very seriously.  Despite living some distance away we see them as often as possible but not as often as I would like. Olivia started school this year ... how old do I feel?
