The Yard Barber was established in 1995, Mr Larry Sexton who has grown the business to service some 106 private clients and with 5 commericla contracts. The business operates in the Winter Park area of Orlando, Florida and in 2006 ownership changed when Larry decided to retire and sell up.
Husband and wife team Jacqui & Stephen Ruxton worked in law enforcement in Scotland for 26 years, before selling up and moving to Florida where they now wish to direct and develop their own business within the lawn services industry.
Jacqui brings 11 years of experience in a middle and senior management role, including business development and improvement and 26 Years of experience in customer service.
Jacqui is a graduate of both the Open University and Glasgow Caledonian University, where she achieved a diploma in Sociology and Criminology and a Post graduate Certificate with distinction in Terciary Level Teaching Methods respectively, both of which were achieved while pursuing a police career.
Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Jacqui joined Strathclyde Police in 1978 and worked through the ranks to Inspector, latterly working in business development and International co-operation as Head of Corporate Support at the Scottish Police College. The past four years have been spent developing a range of business skills, however the people and managerial skills already developed place her in an excellent position to manage and grow this small business.
Stephen brings 26 years of experience working with the public and providing excellent customer service often in difficult situations; in addition he is a qualified maintenance electrician.
Stephen is a graduate of Stow and Reid Kerr Colleges in Scotland. He is a qualified maintenance Electrician, and has recently built a new set of skills in respect of Computer maintenance. He has also undertaken a range of courses to improve his skills within the Law enforcement arena.
Born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland he moved to Ayrshire with his parents where he attended college. Stephen joined Strathclyde Police in 1979, where he has worked in a variety of roles, all involving face to face contact with the public, his people skills are excellent and his easy going nature makes him a favourite with members of the public and community.
