La Capanna was opened in 1978, built from an old farm house discovered in the Sussex countryside, which has been rebuilt behind the façade of an equally old 16th century cottage at the end of Cobham High Street. The result is a large and spacious rustic restaurant, boasting a wealth of exposed beams and high ceilings, enjoying a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where you will be well looked after by Bernardo, the Restaurant Manager, and his team. Alternatively, you can sit outside in the covered Italian Garden overlooking the River Mole, a quiet and magical place on a warm Summer’s day or evening. La Capanna makes a perfect venue for business entertainment, that special family celebration, or a romantic evening for two.

The food at La Capanna is prepared with singular taste and imagination by Head Chef Matthew Crook, who trained under Marco Pierre White. The antipasto specials trolley, which is brought to your table, has a varied and unique selection of Italian starters that are complimented by a comprehensive a la carte menu. La Capanna offers the best of whatever is in season, and its selection of fresh fish and seafood, meat, and game is second to none; our watch words are quality and freshness. The menu is accompanied by a wide selection of specially chosen wines from around the world to suit all tastes and pockets.
