Lancashire Friend is a charity for lesbian and gay people in Lancashire, their friends and their families. We offer a range of services including a phoneline where you can talk about your problems, get advice, or just talk to a friendly ear, free professional counselling, befriendings and regular social events.

Our website holds information about us and the work we do, news and local events, along with links to other groups. If you want to get in touch, e-mail us or send a letter whether for information, advice, counselling or just a chat.

*****GOODBYE LANCASHIRE FRIEND******

Following the Special General Meeting held on Tuesday 30th October it was agreed and voted that Lancashire Friend will close in March 2008. All of us are very sad that this will happen as it will be a great loss to the LGBT community within Lancashire. Following our Chair Person's resignation and several other reasons the decision has been taken. The services offered by the group will continue until the end of March and we hope to signpost as many of our users as possible. Please watch this space for further updates. Flying the FLAG - Seminar

FLAG (Forum for Lesbians & Gays), Burnley will be holding a seminar aimed at professionals ad volunteers. This will be a mixture of activities and workshops providing an insight into the lives of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered people in East Lancashire. The venue is The Old Barn, Gawthorpe Hall, Padiham starting at 9.30 for a 10.00am start. The event will finish around 3.30pm. Lancashire Friend - AGM & Closing Event

Lancashire Friend closes its doors for the last time on Monday 31st March but not before our final AGM and closing event. Our final meeting and AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 26th March. If you would like to attend then please contact Nick by email at nick@lancashirefriend.org.uk
