In February 2003, the Interserve/CSC ATD joint venture, Landmarc Support Services Limited, won one of the largest outsourcing contracts ever awarded by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), to provide a range of comprehensive and unique management and support services to the nationwide Defence Training Estate (DTE).
One of the largest Public Private Partnerships to have been signed at the time, Landmarc’s selection for the £600 million contract was the result of a number of factors including our experience of working at a strategic level with the MOD for many years, giving us a solid understanding of the requirements of the modern military environment. Our management team also has a proven track record of handling staff (TUPE) transfers effectively in many other public-sector contracts and we maintain a philosophy of obtaining the best from our staff by investing in training and development.
The DTE is used for Defence training, providing experience in a wide variety of terrains under diverse operational conditions. We are committed to providing the highest level of service, partnering with DTE to enable safe, sustainable and effective military training. We seek to reform the way services are being delivered, providing value for money, improved efficiency and adding value by improving the condition of training facilities year-on-year.
