Beach Clean at Castlemartin

Landmarc range staff from DTE Pembrokeshire were also mentioned in local press recently for their work with Pembrokeshire National Park and the 14 Signal Regiment to clear rubbish from Bullslaughter Bay and Frainslake Beach on the Castlemartin Range.

The project was overseen by regional SHEQ Coordinator Steve Griffiths; John Prior and Jack Spees organised skips and range staff assisted volunteers by helping to haul bags of rubbish to the top of the cliff.

Rubbish was, however, selectively removed from Frainslake Beach as certain types in certain locations are important habitat for the Strandline Beetle, one of the species forming part of the SSSI designation.

All contents of the skips were recycled, amounting to 5900 kg of rubbish!

This is a prime example of how well Landmarc, the MOD and National Parks can work together.
