When Warcop Church of England Primary School encountered unexpected challenges positioning an additional classroom within the school grounds, headteacher Sally Linsley approached Lt Col Julian Crowe, Commander DTE to see whether the army or Landmarc could help.
The school had obtained funding for the new classroom - a 16 metre portacabin, but due to ground conditions, it had to be lifted up and over the school rather than wheeled into position as planned. Additional funding to hire a crane capable of lifting 100 tonnes had not been accounted for.
Landmarc helped with the extra funds and Wilf Stones, our Technical Support Manager for the North (W) worked alongside the school, using his expertise to advise them on health and safety, site management issues, risk assessments and the hazards of moving such a large structure over the school.
An excellent example of Landmarc and the DTE supporting the local community.
