Note: this unit could apply to businesses already in operation who need to prepare a detailed business plan, in response to particular circumstances eg major expansion, product development etc.

Aim: To be able to present a business plan to another organisation (e.g. funding institution).

It covers:

• The objectives of the presentation.
• The method of presentation.
• The presentation of the plan.
• Production of an action plan, identifying action required and appropriate time scales.

Aim: To produce a business plan which clearly distinguishes between short, medium and long term aspects of the business’ development, and which also includes detailed operational aspects relating to the proposed business.

It covers:

• Short, medium and long term planning.
• Quality criteria and personnel requirements of the business.
• Presentation of the plan and the feedback received.
• Staff development strategies.

Note: This unit would apply to situations where more complicated factors would be involved in establishing a business.
