Great Central Railway Loughborough Tank Engines Strike Back!!!

15th to 16th August 2009

 

Mini Gala event to celebrate the first occasion of the Fairburn Tank and N2 in use together on passenger trains. With last year being the year of the big engines with Lord Nelson, Tornado and Leander all visiting amongst others this year the tanks have struck back with an N7 and Ivatt 2mt from KWVR both already visiting and now the N2 back in steam and the Fairburn tank entering service following an intermediate overhaul with new side tanks being built and now running in on the line before returning the Haverthwaite in the Autumn. The N2 and Fairburn Class 4 will run the standard timetable alongside 2mt 78019 over this August weekend.
