NEW DUO BOOST FOR MONARCHS
|
|
10:30 - 16 March 2005 |
Leicester Monarchs will have a new look when the season gets
underway at Slater Street on Sunday (2.0).
Monarchs take on Birmingham in the Midland-North League
having added two key men to their squad.
The British Team Cup holders have broken new ground by
signing Polish international Lukasz Nowacki, the first rider
from Eastern Europe to appear for the team.
Nowacki raced in this country for current Premier League
champions Horspath last season and celebrated his transfer
to the Monarchs by helping Poland win the World Pairs final
in Australia last month when he was partnered by Karol
Symanski
Leicester's second signing of the close season is teenager
Daniel Pike, one of the hottest prospects in domestic cycle
speedway. A Young England international, Pike rode for East
Anglia club Eaton last season and is currently on tour in
Australia with the junior Great Britain team. |
