As the house faces south,
the garden is in full sun for most of the summer and
when the weather permits, guests are quite welcome to
take tea or relax on the patio. The garden is well stocked with a
variety of azalea, phlox, hostas, herbaceous plants and
small shrubs and, depending on the time of year, you can
watch osprey from the garden as well as buzzards, a huge
variety of small birds and various species of butterfly.
You may even catch a glimpse of our family of stoats
playing at breakfast time!
Tawny owls nest across the paddock - their young can be
heard being taught to hunt, red leg partridge and lesser
spotted woodpeckers also
nest close by and are regular garden visitors. Mallards
nest in the courtyard and garden but hide themselves
well.
