Volunteering

Acton Saturday Venture Club is staffed entirely by volunteers as from its inception nearly 30 years ago. It is therefore obvious to say, that volunteers play a vital role in the continued running of the Club.

Our volunteers are recruited from the local community, either by referral from Ealing Volunteer Bureau or from replies to our various campaigns.

Volunteer responsibilities are varied, from organising Club Days, running and supervising activities, to general administration. On a typical Club Day, a volunteer will exercise his or her social skills by participating in the day's activities, encouraging members to become involved and lending help and support where required.

Ask our volunteers their motives for joining our organisation and you will receive a varied set of responses but one thing common amongst all replies will be "I enjoy it". Many have been with us for several years or more and in that time have become good friends with each other. They enjoy a good social life together and the Club frequently organises "Volunteers' Nights Out"

No formal training is required to become a volunteer. If you are interested and can spare some of your time between 12.30pm and 4.00pm on alternate Saturdays, please contact our Volunteer and Member Coordinator, Ivan.
