7. SUBCONTRACTOR/SUPPLIER CONTROL

A procedure for the control and surveillance of suppliers shall be provided to ensure:

• the control and protection of program costs and delivery schedules;
• continued compatibility of the supplier provided equipment for the technical system;
• updating of all data dependent on supplier provided equipment, for example, overhaul and maintenance manuals;
• information on version of software to equipment modification standard;
• protection against authorized change.

7.1 Control procedure for equipment and specifications.

The Change Control procedure for equipment and specifications shall be in accordance with this 'Configuration Management Plan'.

• Changes shall be proposed by the supplier on a 'Change Proposal' in response to a 'Change Request' from the acquirer or his agent;
• When authorized, changes shall be controlled by the supplier, deficiencies recorded and kept for traceability purposes;
• Deviations and waivers.

When a change requires a baseline change (specification) this shall be stated on the relevant submitted CP, and the specification changed by the design authority configuration change authority.
In some cases time can be saved if the participating company completes the CO, where the change is requested by the acquirer and forwards it to the developer for completion.

If software is affected, change control will be via the Software Configuration Management Plan procedures (see section 10).
