Preliminary Hazard Listing

Overview

A 'Preliminary hazard listing is prepared to identify the primary generic hazards and accident scenarios that are associated with the specific system being designed.
The process shall highlight any areas on which to focus special design attention.
The 'Preliminary Hazard Listing' shall be carried out by means of a checklist based approach or similar method. Consideration shall be given to previous development and actual incident and accident data relating similar or other applicable systems.
All identified hazards shall be recorded in a 'Preliminary Hazard Listing Report' and the 'Hazard Log'.
The preliminary hazard listing report shall be referenced in the Hazard Log.

The 'Preliminary Hazard Listing' shall be documented in the 'Preliminary Hazard Listing Report' and shall contain the following information:
