Software Estimation Process

Overview .

The software estimation process contained herein describes the steps for establishing initial software life cycle cost (LCC) estimates and then tracking and refining those estimates throughout the life of the project. This process describes a generic method for software estimation that, with tailoring, can be applied to the software projects.

The process flow diagram in Figure 1 depicts the estimation process.
