Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQAP)

Objectives -

This document provides the standard plan for Software Quality Assurance (SQA) process for software being produced by an internal or external developer for the projects.

This standard software management process will be used in conjunction with ISO/IEC 12207/MIL-STD-498 and SEI "Best Practices". However, MIL-STD-498 shall take precedence when any conflict occurs.

This plan shall be supplemented with project-specific information defined in the project specific Software Development Plan (SDP) project's SQA organization, tasks, roles, and responsibilities. The planning and documenting of SQA activities shall agree and be consistent with the project's Software Development Plan (SDP) and any other Software Management process document. Additionally, the SQAP shall comply with the SQA Policy.

The SQA Policy is a written organizational policy for implementing SQA to provide management with appropriate visibility into the process being used by the software project and of the products being built or prepared. The organization and policies shall be as stated in the "Organizational Program Management Plan".
