The Safety policy shall be formulated during the
'Concept and Demonstration phase of the system life cycle.
A 'System Safety Program Plan' shall be prepared when applicable
in accordance with the requirements defined in the SOW. The primary
purpose of the system safety program plan is to establish the
organization and define activities to identify possible hazards
(risk of damage, injury, or death) and to analyze and reduce the
risk of their occurrence.
Only Safety of the system, that is, avoidance of
danger to life, health or property while in use including storage,
transportation, and test shall be considered. The safety of personnel
during its design and production shall be the responsibility of
the individual company or site management (Health and Safety laws).

The document shall be prepared to the requirements stated in the 'Technical Documentation Standard' and the appended model-text.
Initially, a 'Preliminary Hazard Analysis' shall be performed to determine the potential hazards that may occur as a result of the system. This analysis shall be conducted following the guide-lines and procedures defined in the 'Preliminary Hazard Analysis Procedure'.
