System Test Plan

Overview

A 'System Test Plan' shall be prepared to identify and define the organizations (overall and specific), activities, resources, and planning processes deemed to be necessary. An overview of the facilities to be used, including any geographic locations, facilities, and other features required for the contracted effort.
The option to use separate test plans for the subsystems, HWCIs, and CSCIs (e.g., for operational, production purposes, etc.,) during the system life cycle shall be identified and the reasons discussed and defined (e.g., multiple-suppliers, organizational complexity, etc.,) in the plan. However, all separate plans shall conform to this one and shall have a statement included to that effect.
The overall project testing structure, including the organizations involved, their relationship to one another and the authority and responsibility of each organization shall be provided.

System Test planning is a system engineering function and defined in the SEMP


1. SCOPE

1.1 Identification.

This 'System Test Plan' establishes the philosophy and strategy to be adopted in the testing of the projected system as defined in the 'System/subsystem specification.

1.2 Purpose.

Sate the purpose of the unit under test.

1.3 Overview of the document.

This document comprises of six sections identified as follows:

1.4 Relationship to other plans.

The 'System Test Plan' shall be used in conjunction with the 'System Engineering Management Plan', 'Test and Evaluation Program Plan', and 'Project Plan'.

2. REFERENCED DOCUMENTS

List any referenced documentation.

3. OBJECTIVES

Provide an overview of the objectives of the test plan, include flow diagrams, milestones, personnel participation, locations, schedules, and security measures to be observed.
