Technical Management - a pragmatic approach. 2nd Edition.
The objective of this publication is to
define the necessary technical effort to manage and control large and complex
technical systems as defined by the 'MANAGING STANDARDS' Web-page.
The prime objective is to provide
guidance for implementing the framework standards ISO/IEC 15288 and ISO/IEC
12207 using the eclectic processes defined in the referenced documents
identified by “MANAGING STANDARDS” www page.
The objectives of this document are:
- To establish and define the integrated technical effort and
integrated product and process development necessary to satisfy the
general and detailed requirements for the design, development,
manufacture, and support activities;
- To establish clear expectations between the acquirer and developer
and define the necessary process for the tasks to be performed in line
with the contracted standards;
- To provide a reference for common terminology and vocabulary for
technical management;
- To provide a seamless interface to the development of the projected
system, and subsystems and equipment and the comprising hardware, software
and the integration of other specialist technical disciplines;
- To provide evidence that control over the design, development,
manufacturing, installation, and servicing is being planned and performed;
- To provide visibility into the integrated technical effort and the
control and management of the specific element of a project.
The primary aim of this document is to
provide an efficient, effective, and economical solution to the management and
control of the concept, definition, design, test, manufacture, and support of a
projected technical system.
The document “Technical
Management - a pragmatic approach” shall provide a
