Value Engineering Program Plan

Overview

Value Engineering is an organized effort to obtain optimum value by providing the necessary function at the lowest life cycle cost. The plan outlines the organization and methods which are used for value engineering.
Methods used:

• Value engineering analyses equipment by capability rather than by content and looks to reduce the cost. Focusing on capability or function allows the analyzers to concentrate on essential features and avoid any preconceived notions.
• Each study will comprise the following steps:

1. Information gathering;
2. Definition of function;
3. Speculation on alternatives;
4. Evaluation of all alternative ways of meeting the requirements;
5. Verification
6. Presentation of proposals
7. Implementation;
   1. Follow-up.
